Nefertiti W. Steward is the owner of a local bookstore and boutique in the Metropolitan area. She is the first Black woman to risk operating a bookstore business in a major mall, in Michigan. She first established Truth Bookstore, December 1994 in Northland Mall; Southfield, MI. In October 1999, she relocated to a location in the mall expanding to three time its original size.

Nefertiti graduated from Wayne County Community College with an Associate's Degree. She also completed an intensive certification program in Automated Office and Finance from American Career Academy. Her previous professional experience included thirteen years as Assistant manager at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Bookstore and Cultural Center. Former President of African American Awareness Association at WC3. Personal interests include interior decorating, cultural displays, clothing design, sewing and crafts. She always enjoys meeting and interacting with people.
